Chicken doner kebab is a Turkish takeout favorite.  This recipe is easy to make at home.    The chicken is seasoned to perfection with spices, yogurt and tomato paste, then cooked in the oven.


Chicken thighs Yogurt Tomato puree Olive oil Garlic Ground coriander Hot paprika Cayenne Lemon juice Cumin Salt Black pepper Onion


1. Mix yogurt, lemon juice and olive oil. 

2. Add tomato paste, spices and grated garlic. 

3. Mix the marinade until everything is fully combined.

4. Coat the bashed chicken thighs in marinade. 

5. Use soaked skewers to prevent them from snapping and burning. 

6. Push the chicken thighs into two skewers. Place them on top of onion chunck to prevent from sticking on tray. 

7. Bake for 35-40 minutes. Use a knife to slice thin shavings of kebab. 

Serve chicken doner with turkish pita bread, yellow rice, salad and your favorite dips.

Turkish pita bread is easy to bake on a hot pan. 

Yellow rice is fluffy rice flavored with turmeric, garlic and onion.

Tabbouleh salad is a fresh side with doner kebab with lots of herbs.
