Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 2 people

  • 300-400 g beef
  • 1 tsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tsp of honey
  • 1/4 tsp of garlic powder
  • 2 handfuls of mixed leaves
  • 4 tbsp of sweetcorn
  • 1 avocado diced
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 3 spring onions chopped
  • 1 handful of crushed peanuts
  • 1 tbsp of toasted sesame seeds
  • Parsley to garnish
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Olive oil drizzle
  • Balsamic vinegar optional
  • Sunflower oil

  • Add a splash of sunflower oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, honey, salt and pepper into a bowl. Mix together and add the beef. Rub the mixture into the beef and set aside.
  • Heat a splash of sunflower oil in a pan and fry the beef on a medium heat until brown (see notes for more details).
  • Add mixed leaves, sweet red pepper, avocado, parsley, sweetcorn and spring onions into another large bowl and mix. Add a drizzle of olive oil, salt, pepper and balsamic vinegar and mix again.
  • Add your salad to a plate and top with crushed peanuts. Place the beef slices on top and sprinkle sesame seeds over the beef.

Use tongs to test how done the beef is. If the beef is soft when
pressed it is rare; if it is springy it is medium; and if it is firm it is
well done. Once your beef is cooked to your taste remove from
heat, set aside and leave to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
