Notes

Tips
  • If you have not got a waffle maker, you can still make this recipe. You can make these waffles with a griddle pan. You need to grease your pan before pouring in your batter. I picked this tip from Jamie Oliver from one of his pan waffle recipes. So basically you would be making a griddle pan waffle. Feel free to divide your waffles into portions or serve them as a whole.
  • Don’t overmix your waffle batter. You want your waffles to be fluffy and light and overmixing can cause the opposite to occur. Stop while you still see some lumps in your batter.
  • If you are making your own buttermilk for this recipe, you will first make the buttermilk by adding 1.5 tablespoons of vinegar or lemon juice to 1.5 cups of whole milk. Stir and leave to stand for 15 minutes before using for the recipe.
