This Easy Chocolate Twix Cake recipe combines layers of fluffy chocolate cake, a Twix bar crust, thick buttery caramel, and decadent chocolate buttercream. It’s a delightful dessert for birthdays and special occasions.
Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease two 7-inch cake pans with butter or oil and line them with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine, self-raising flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, mix well and set aside.
Next, in a separate bowl, beat the butter for one minute or until creamy then add the caster sugar and whisk for about 5 minutes or until light and fluffy.
Crack an egg into the mixture and mix until fully incorporated. Repeat with the remaining eggs.
Then add half of the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently. Next, pour in half of the milk to achieve a smoother batter and add the remaining dry ingredients and mix until just incorporated.
Evenly distribute the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
Once the cake is done, gently place it upside down on a cooling rack and let it cool for 2 hours or completely before decorating.
Decorate Twix Cake
Place one layer of cooled chocolate cake on a plate or cake board.
Spread a layer of chocolate buttercream on top, followed by a layer of caramel.
Add the second cake layer and frost the entire cake with chocolate buttercream, smoothing it out with a spatula.
Press several Twix bars around the sides of the cake.
Use a nozzle and piping bag to add chocolate buttercream and whipped cream around the top.
Arrange chopped Twix bars on top of the chocolate buttercream and pour caramel in the centre.
Finish by adding two crumbs to the centre.
Serve this decadent Easy Chocolate Twix Cake on special occasions.

Notes
Chocolate Cake Cooling: Allow the cakes to cool completely before frosting them with buttercream. This will prevent the frosting from melting.
Caramel Filling: Choose high-quality caramel for the filling or make it from scratch.
Room-Temperature Ingredients: Before starting the recipe, ensure that the butter, eggs, and milk are at room temperature.
Batter Mixing: Mix the cake batter until the ingredients are combined to avoid overworking the gluten, which can result in a denser cake.
