These crispy Mini Pistachio Puff Pastry Christmas Trees are a decadent festive treat. Puff pasty sheets are filled with pistachio paste, shaped into Christmas trees and baked to make a fun treat or dessert.
Preheat the oven to 180C/360F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Unroll one pastry sheet and spread pistachio paste on top and add crushed pistachios. Then, gently place another pastry sheet on top.
Cut one-quarter of the sheet and use a star-shaped cookie cutter to make mini stars and set aside. Then, cut the remaining sheet into equal-sized strips.
Grab one strip and fold it horizontally, shortening the length each time to resemble a tree. Then, push the skewer through the bottom of the tree in the centre and place the star on top. Repeat this with the remaining strips and place them on the baking tray with at least one inch of space in between.
Next, combine one egg and one tablespoon of water in a bowl and brush them on each Christmas tree. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden.
Once done, dust icing sugar on top and crushed pistachios and serve these delicious Mini Pistachio Puff Pastry Christmas Trees!
Notes
Pistachio paste: Select a good-quality pistachio paste for the best flavor.
Skewers: If you have time, soak the skewers for 30 minutes before baking to prevent them from burning while baking.
Baking: Leave space between each mini tree on the baking tray to prevent them from sticking together as they bake.
