Review: My Week With HelloFresh
HelloFresh sent me a free family box with the ingredients for three different meals. The ingredients were delivered in a large cardboard box. The box included a cooler with frozen/fridge goods, recipe cards and ingredients for the three meals.
HelloFresh Chicken Pie
Initially I was worried about how much flavor the meals would have but I was pleasantly surprised. I cooked the chicken pie first and I was really impressed. The chicken was incredibly fresh and I really enjoyed the combination of parsnips and potato mash.
HelloFresh Beef Stir Fry
The second meal was a beef stir fry. This was my favorite out of all of the meals. The combination of ginger, beef and soy was so delicious that I’ll definitely be making this again! The only thing I would change about this dish would be the amount of sweet chilli sauce added. I prefer more savory dishes so I would have halved the recommended amount.
HelloFresh Chicken Thighs, Potatoes and Kale
The final meal was chicken thighs, potatoes and Kale. This was probably my least favourite meal because it was pretty standard. However, it still tasted incredibly fresh and was probably the easiest to make because all I had to do was prep the ingredients and bake them in the oven.
Pros:
- A variety of different meals are provided for you to choose from which keeps dinner time interesting.
- The recipes are straight forward and the ingredients are pre-measured.
- It’s a great time saver because you don’t have to go to the supermarket to buy ingredients.
- You pick up skills from the recipes.
- The portion sizes are spot on.
Cons:
- The suggested amount of seasoning won’t always be to your taste.
- The packaging takes up a lot of space
Conclusion
Overall, I would definitely recommend a HelloFresh box. I really enjoyed the experience and it genuinely made dinner time more exciting. It helped me save time because I didn’t have to go to the supermarket to buy ingredients. I also really enjoyed the variety of meals they had to offer because it gave me the chance to try meals that I wouldn’t usually make.
