How to Make the Easy Creamy Tomato Pasta Recipe
This is a very simple dish to make. All you need to do is follow the steps below:
1. Boil a pot of water and add 200 g of rigatoni (or the pasta alternative of your choice). Cook it for 8-12 minutes and then remove it from heat. It should still be hard and not cooked all the way through at this point.
2. Heat up some sunflower oil or olive oil in a medium saucepan. Add ¾ cup of tomato puree and stir for 1 minute while it cooks.
3. Then, pour in ¼ cup of double cream. Stir to mix it with the tomato puree and season it with a pinch of salt, ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon of onion powder. You can also add a few pinches of mixed herbs at this time. Splash some lemon juice on it and mix it all together. Let it simmer for up to 10 minutes on low heat.
4. After 10 minutes, add the rigatoni. Stir it all together and let everything cook for a few more minutes. If the mixture is too dry, you can add a little bit of water to your liking.
5. Serve on a dish and enjoy!
The Secret of Reheating
In some cases, pasta may be even healthier for you if it’s reheated. This means that you can refrigerate it and then reheat it after a day or two, and it will have less starch than before. Sometimes, reheating pasta will turn it into a resistant starch which means it won’t affect your natural glucose levels. Plus, it will make you feel more full, preventing you from the temptation of overeating!
