This homemade healthy pumpkin puree recipe is perfect for fall! Add it to all of your favorite recipes like cakes, cookies, soups, pasta and more!
About this Recipe
It’s pumpkin season (yay!) so get ready to add pumpkins to EVERYTHING! Pumpkins are part of the squash family and have many different health benefits. They are high in fiber, potassium and vitamin C.
Pumpkin puree can be added to pancakes, waffles, pasta, cakes and so much more. Iv’e recently made pumpkin waffles, cake and soup and I can’t wait to experiment with more recipes.
Another great thing about pumpkins are the seeds. Pumpkin seeds are very nutritious and can be kept. They are actually quite expensive in the supermarket so I love roasting my own pumpkin seeds. I usually add them to oatmeal, toast or just snack on them.
How to Store Homemade Pumpkin Purée
When the roasted pumpkin is blended it becomes a puree. It is super easy to make your own pumpkin puree and store it in the fridge. I prefer to make my own puree because I it is healthier than canned pumpkin puree. Click below for my healthy pumpkin puree recipe!
