Make the Mixed Berries & Oats Breakfast Bowl in 10 Minutes!
1. First, add one cup of the frozen mixed berries to your saucepan. Add 1 tablespoon of water to the saucepan as well. Then, cook the berries on medium heat until they start to bubble, then lower the heat and simmer for 2-5 minutes. Once this compote mixture is cooked, add it to a jar and store it in the fridge after it has cooled down.
2. Then, take ¼ cup to ½ cup of oats and cook it according to the instructions on your oatmeal packaging. Finally, pour the cooked oats into a bowl and add the remaining ingredients, which include 2-3 tablespoon of your refrigerated berry compote, a chopped banana, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of oil-free nut butter, and 1 tablespoon of your favorite Greek yogurt.
Optional: Sprinkle crushed almonds or nuts of your choice atop the oatmeal.
How to Store Oatmeal with Mixed Berries Compote
The berry compote and oatmeal should be stored in separate containers. Berry compote can last 2-3 days, while oatmeal does not typically last very long in the fridge.
