Oats Nutrition Facts
It’s fascinating that we usually crave sweet things for breakfast, mixed with a little bit of hearty and savoury flavours. Berries and oats not only satisfy that craving, but they are actually recommended as one of the healthiest breakfasts to start your day with.
In fact, it’s often the breakfast chosen by nutritionists and professional dieters. Berries contain such a strong mix of vitamins and minerals that they are sure to give you that morning boost you need – more than coffee will ever do for you. Berries contain things like antioxidants and Vitamins A and C, supplying you with vital energy.
Oats are healthy grains that are rich in fiber and can help you feel full throughout the day. They are also very good for your digestive system.
So, the next time you are considering what to satisfy your sweet tooth with in the morning, try making our delicious and simple oats and berries dish instead of picking up another pop tart!
Healthy Overnight Oats Recipe
Make sure your oats don’t get too wet throughout this process. You should be adding dry, uncooked oats to your jar to have a good final product. Otherwise, your oats risk getting soggy. Adding too many fruits on top can also create this issue. Raspberries and blueberries are especially prone to softness.
Overnight Oats with Chia Seeds
You can add extras like chia seeds to firm up the ingredients and absorb more of the moisture so your oats don’t end up too soggy. W also added prunes to our berry mix to make this healthy overnight oats recipe great for weight loss.
Ultimately, you can add however many ingredients you want, and you can store it in a way that will keep it away from getting soggy for as long as possible. Just play around with the different ingredients and determine the best oats and berries combination that you can look forward to every morning!
Make Our Best Overnight Oats Jar
1. Add ¼ cup of your favourite mixed berries to a blender. Then, add 3 whole prunes and the sweetener of your choice. For our recipe, we included 1-2 Tbsp of honey, but you can use agave syrup as well.
2. Don’t forget to add 2-3 Tbsp of almond milk to the blender! Once all of your ingredients are added, blend it all until it’s thoroughly mixed.
3. Then, grab a jar big enough to fit all of your delicious goodies. Add ¼ cup of oats (uncooked!), and pour more almond milk until it covers them. On top of that, add 3-5 Tbsp of Greek or vegan yoghurt. Still have room left in the jar? Good!
4. Now, add your blended berry mixture on top of the yoghurt. Top it with your favourite crunchy granola and a handful of your freshest berries. Leave it in the fridge overnight so you can look forward to a hearty breakfast.
5. Remove from the fridge and enjoy!
This is one of the heartiest and healthiest breakfasts you’ll have, and it is so easy to make. The fresher the ingredients you have, the healthier the breakfast will be, but you can use frozen mixed berries just as well.
It should be eaten the next morning, as it doesn’t stay fresh in the fridge for very long. Enjoy it while it lasts!
