This delicious healthy egg breakfast wrap is just what you need to start the day! This meal is easy to make, extremely nutritious and rich in protein.
About this Recipe
There are so many incredible breakfast dishes that it can be difficult to decide what you want to eat in the morning. Trust me, I get you! At Sims Home Kitchen, we often can’t decide between a breakfast burrito or an omelet, and it got to the point where we shook our heads in frustration.
But, finally, we found the perfect solution.
Omelet wrap!
Why didn’t we think of this sooner? All of the ingredients and flavors of an omelet, wrapped up in a convenient burrito form! Are you as excited as we are to put this on your breakfast plate?
Additional Veggie Options
Spinach and tomato, not enough? You can add more greens to make it a healthy version of this eggy delight. Try peas, broccoli, and cabbage as tasty additions to a well-balanced breakfast. In addition, you can add bell peppers or chilies to make it spicier.
How to Make an Omelette Wrap
1. In a medium mixing bowl, crack open 2 large eggs. Add ¼ of red onion, sliced, to the bowl. Then, add a pinch of salt and pepper to your liking. Beat the ingredients until they are thoroughly combined.
2. Heat up some olive oil in a frying pan. Then, pour the egg mixture and cook the eggs for 3-5 minutes per side.
3. Then, quickly remove the omelet from heat and add it flat onto a plate. Add your scrumptious fillings, which for us includes: ½ chopped avocado, ½ sliced tomato, a handful of spinach, ½ a handful of rocket, and 1 handful of your favorite shredded cheese).
4. Roll up the omelet with all of the ingredients inside, like a burrito!
5. Optional: Drizzle sriracha sauce on top for a dash of spice and flavor! You can also replace it with your preferred condiment, like ketchup.
6. Finally, cut it in half and enjoy!
Breakfast Egg Wrap
We didn’t think this genius idea would work, but it really did. Not only is it easy to make, but it’s even easier to eat than a regular omelet because you can hold it like a breakfast burrito!
How Long Can the Healthy Breakfast Egg Wrap Last?
Your omelet breakfast burrito can probably last up to 3 days in the fridge. We recommend storing it in an air-tight space and cover it with plastic wrap. Then, when you’re ready to eat it again, cut it into wedges and heat it up so it will melt in your mouth.
In addition, this can be enjoyed cold. You can chop it up into smaller bits and add it to a salad or a noodle dish for an extra dash of protein and a great way to recycle your leftovers!
