Spicy, saucy and delicious! Love hot wings and don’t know where to start? Find out how to make crispy hot wings and serve them as a side or starter.
How to Make Crispy Hot Wings
I am a huge fan of hot wings so I decided to create a healthier recipe. Instead of deep-frying the wings I baked them and they tasted just as delicious!
- Preheat the oven at 230 °C. Cover an oven rack with aluminum foil, lightly oil the foil and set aside.
- Add flour (1/2 cup), baking powder (1/2 tbsp), salt to taste, chili powder (2 tsp) and garlic powder (1/2 tsp) to a large bowl and whisk (add other seasonings if you wish).
- Use a paper towel to pat down each wing (1 kg) until they are dry. Then dip each wing into the flour mix, place them on the foil and make sure they are 2 cm apart.
- Bake wings for 40 minutes and turn halfway through.
- While the wings are baking get started on the sauce. Melt 1/4 cup of butter in a saucepan on low heat. Then add 1/2 a cup of hot sauce, season to taste if necessary and cook until the sauce starts to bubble.
- Once the wings are ready remove them from the oven. Dip and drench each wing into the hot sauce and serve as desired.
How to Store Crispy Hot Wings
