- 2 drops Green food coloring optional

- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 2.5 tablespoon icing sugar

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 170C/340F. Line two 7" baking tins and lightly grease them with butter or oil. Set aside for later.
- Add plain flour, salt, and matcha powder to a bowl and stir.
- Next, beat unsalted butter and sugar in a separate bowl for 3-5 minutes until fluffy.
- Then, crack eggs into the butter mixture one at a time, vanilla extract and beat until they disappear.
- Add half of the dry ingredients into the bowl and mix until combined. Repeat this step with the remaining dry ingredients.
- Next, gently fold in the buttermilk and stir until combined.
- Pour equal amounts of the matcha cake batter into the lined tins.
- Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Once done remove cakes from the oven and let cool completely.

- Beat unsalted butter in a bowl for one minute then add icing sugar and beat for 3-5 minutes. Add matcha, salt and vanilla and whisk until fluffy and combined.
