About this Recipe
This matcha smoothie is the last smoothie that I made for my ten day smoothie cleanse! I have made this smoothie on so many occasions because it includes simple ingredients that are easy to find and it can be made in under 5 minutes!
This smoothie has a very clean taste and is naturally sweetened by the bananas so you don’t have to add any sweeteners.
I have also given this smoothie to my family and friends to try and all of them agree that it is healthy, green, clean and delicious!
One thing I will mention, is that the consistency is totally up to you. If you prefer thicker smoothies then add less milk and if you prefer looser smoothies then add more milk.
What is Matcha?
Matcha is finely grounded green tea leaves traditionally consumed in East Asia. The powdered form of matcha is normally consumed with milk or water.

Matcha Smoothie Ingredients
To make this delicious smoothie you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 tsp of matcha powder
- 1 cup of spinach
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 frozen banana chopped
This recipe serves 1-2 depending on the size of the cup or jar.
How to Make a Matcha Smoothie
- Add frozen bananas, spinach, milk and matcha to a smoothie maker and blend until smooth.
- Pour smoothie in a cup or jar and serve.
Alternatives
You can use any milk of your choice for this recipe. If you want a vegan matcha smoothie then use plant-based milk. However, if you want a creamy dairy smoothie then use full fat milk.
If you want this smoothie chilled then add 1/2 a cup of ice to the smoothie maker before blending.
To make this smoothie extra creamy add 1-2 tablespoons of yogurt.
