How to Prep
Our cashew butter recipe is super easy to make, and you can have a full jar of homemade spread in about 15 minutes. If you’ve never made your own butter or spread before, you will find this to be an exciting experience.
Preparation is incredibly easy! All you need is a ton of cashews (400g, to be exact), an oven, a food processor, and a jar to put them in once they’re ground up nice and smooth. Some people prefer to add a little bit of sweetness, which can be achieved with 1-2 tablespoon of maple syrup or agave nectar if you want to stay sugar-free.
Making Homemade Cashew Butter
1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Once it’s heated up, add the whole cashew nuts and roast them for about 10 minutes. After they are toasted, remove them and let them cool completely before adding them to a food processor.
2. Blend the cashews in the processor for 10-15 minutes. They need to be super smooth before they can be turned into butter. If you are in the mood to add some sweetener, make sure to do so once they’ve been blending for about 8 minutes.
3. once smooth, add the cashew butter to a jar.
4. Enjoy as a favorite toast spread, a dessert topping, or even a sweet addition to your favorite breakfast!
Like most nut butters, cashew butter can last a long time. Keep it out or in the fridge and use it whenever you want!
